This time, we left the house extra early because we learned from previous experience. I am not joking, see picture below for proof. (All the photos taken this time are rather bad, because of the poor lighting environment. Sorry for that. please share if you know how to correct this without using flash. I am using ISO 400)

Char Par Par Steamboat Restaurant at Klang
16 December 2006 - 11:19pm - fried-tomato
Klang is also known for it's Steamboat beside the Bak Kut Teh and most of them are being ran by "Pulau Ketam" people. "Pulau Ketam" is a small island located off the coast of klang and 80% of the villagers are fishermen so i believe now you know why klang is also known for it's Steamboat. When i am "googling" for some info on Pulau Ketam, and i am amazed by their very own official website http://www.pulauketam.com. A simple but yet very informative site.

The 30 years old Wan Tan Mee stall in Klang
29 November 2006 - 6:41pm - fried-tomato
Finally I manage to free myself to try out the Wan Tan Mee recommended by my dad located at the heart of klang. (it is near the Maybank branch at Jalan Meru) I believe the older people will know this place, as the owner told me that he been selling at here for over 30 years. If you ask most of klang people, i think they will know this place. (except YOUNG man like me) If you have time, you should check out this funny ah see wan tan mee history revealed by suanie.
The highly recommended dish will be the Wan Tan (also called wonton, wanton) that literally means "swallowing clouds". This is the best Wan Tan i ate before so far. I feel so lucky for ordering additional Wan Tan that day. Trust me the Wan Tan is good, you should never miss this.

Restaurant Number One Clay Pot Rice
28 November 2006 - 9:16am - fried-tomato
This is another Malaysia dish, Clay Pot Chicken Rice. They have just recently moved to Taman Berkeley, Klang. (They are just neighbour to the The famous mee hoon kuey in klang i blogged previously. ) Their specialty is the cooking is done over a charcoal stove and i find that the food is good with a very affordable price.

Here is the picture of our Clay Pot Chicken Rice, you get a lot of salted fish and the chinese sausage. Normally it is order per head (person) and we ordered one and a half for two person, as we afraid we might not able to finish it. Tips, try not to order one and a half as you get very little chicken (as per picture) and the price is not much different from the two person portion. (my advise after the second visit) The clay pot chicken rice for two person is RM 9.00

Thanks for my friends who came early to get the table. They waited 30 minutes for the table, so if you are coming on weekends, be early. For more info on Bak Kut Teh you can check out Bak Kut Teh at Wikipedia

The World of Dim Sum
16 October 2006 - 1:03pm - fishballIt was one last saturday morning, I had a strong feeling of eating dim sam as my breakfast so I decided to go to a restaurant located in Klang, the Restoran Mexim. I would like to recommend this restaurant to the readers because their dim sam are very special and their price is also reasonable.
What is so good about eating dim sam is the speed of serving. It is fast cause the dim sam are always ready and being steamed to keep it hot. Once I sat down, I immediately chose a few of special dim sam.
This fine meal feature shows three pieces of dim sam that were stuffed with prawns. The best thing about this dim sam is their skins are thin unlike other ordinary dim sam that has thick skin.
