Restoran On Kee at Permas Jaya JB
23 December 2006 - 9:22pm - coolfireWell, heres another restaurant from JB that I wana share with you guys. Its called Restoran Permas On Kee.

I would say it is a typical chinese restaurant that you'll find in any other corner in Malaysia. So I'll just get straight to their signature dishes that I find its different from other places. The 1st dish is the Chicken Floss Taohu. Im not a chicken floss fan personally, however the sweetness of the floss is able to blend-well with the soury gravy, thus creating a swett-and-sour taste, a real soothing taste, its perfect as an appetizer. Sandwhiched between the floss and gravy is a TENDER soft home-made taohu, the 3 of them make them a great combination.
Kueh Teow Kia Near Plaza Pelangi JB
23 December 2006 - 7:30pm - coolfireContinuation from my previous blog, introducing another JB's local specialty, Kueh Teow Kia. This stall that I tried is located in a shop (restoran Ka Hoe) behind Plaza Pelangi, at the end of a stretch of shops. Highly reccomended for pork lovers ;-)

The Kueh Teow Kia is served in soup. Its soup has the 5-spices (ng heong) together with some chinese herbs (tong kuai) taste. It really tastes different from the other kueh teow soup I've ever tried. its keuh teow is smooth, I wouldn't say its uper smooth, but its texture is really tender yet spongy. contradicting ay...;-p You can have a look how it looks like when served ;-)
Sakura Cafe at Taman Pelangi JB
22 December 2006 - 7:33pm - coolfireI went to JB 3 weeks ago. My cousin over there brought me around for some nice food. So I'll inrtoduce the places that I personally find worth trying when you are in JB. This blog I'll introduce Sakura Cafe.

Its different from the sakura in KL (famous for nasi lemak), its just co-incidently share the same name. The environment setting of the cafe is really cosy, it gives you the old country cottage feeling with its antiques placed around the cafe. You'll definitely feel very much at home (thats what I feel that time :-p) as you can see from the 2 pictures below:
Signature Claypot Loh Shu Fun in Broga
11 November 2006 - 8:03pm - coolfireWell, this is my 1st blog over here, so any comments are most welcome ;-)
I had lunch at this place called Ka Heong Seafood Restaurant in Broga (a small lil town). The food here are nice and are resonably priced. Im going to introduce few of its noodles series that I feel thats worth trying.
1st of all is off cos their signature Claypot Loh Shu Fun. As you all would know, loh shu fun texture are usually very smooth and spongy, hence with the thick gravy cooked in a claypot, you'll find it difficult to use a chopstick due to its smoothness and thick gravy. Beneath the gravy, you will find some minced meat, and top with an egg. The egg is raw when its 1st served, but once you have mixed it with the loh shu fun, it'll be just nice....trust me, its mouth-watering!!! ;-)

Besides, they also serve Indian Mee Goreng. Yes a Chinese restaurant serving Indian mee goreng. Surprisingly, it tastes really great! The testure of the noodle and the spices used were just nice. I would say, it tastes better than most of the mee goreng you'll find at a mamak stall ;-)
